[Market News 09/01/2025] MARKET MOVEMENT HAS NOT CREATED NEW BREAKTHROUGHS

Some notable information:

– Foreign investors net sold over 500 billion VND (including all 3 exchanges). Top foreign net buy matching orders included codes: TCB, MSN, HDB, … Top foreign net sell matching orders included codes: FPT, STB, VTP,… Thus, foreign trading basically did not create a new highlight. For every 1-2 net buying sessions, there would be a few net selling sessions > 300 billion VND. The remaining average net selling level is usually below 300 billion VND. Occasionally, a code with a sudden surge in net buying will appear, such as TCB today.

– With today’s green hammer candle, it cannot be confirmed that the short-term trend is positive. However, as shared, the overall fundamental VN-Index is sideways, with occasional 1-2 stronger decline candles on days when the banking group declines, coinciding with the adjustment cycle of the mid-cap and small-cap groups. We have not yet seen more negative signs in the medium term, but only a higher probability of forming a four-bottom pattern.

– The banking sector has shown a slight upward trend in the last 3 trading sessions, while the mid-cap and small-cap groups have started to enter the oversold area, and selling pressure has eased. The positive point is that the market has rotated selling across almost all sectors, which could prevent a deep market decline, but for now, it is difficult to expect an euphoric state to appear with the current liquidity. Perhaps the sideways and differentiated trend is still the awaited trend at this time.
