SUMMARY OF KEY POINTS IN THE REPORT
The VN-Index closed the trading session forming a “Small White Candle” pattern.
Trading volume increased and remained above the 20-day average. Theoretically, a rise in price accompanied by rising volume is a bullish pattern supported by volume – a positive signal.
Key highlights:
(i) Foreign investors recorded a net sell of over VND 1,532 billion (across all three exchanges).
Top net-buy stocks included: SSI, DIG, SHS, BAF, CII, GEX, VCI, EIB, DXG, HDC, etc.
Top net-sell stocks included: MWG, KDH, HPG, FPT, VIC, VPB, VIX, FUEVFVND, VHM, VSC, etc.
Retail investors continued to play the key role as net buyers, maintaining market momentum, while foreign investors appeared to have sold off most of their positions accumulated when the market surpassed 1,400 points.
(ii) The VN-Index continued to rise, forming a small-bodied red candle. The market is showing sector rotation, with mixed performance among different stock groups.
Technically, the bulls remain in control, though there are early signs that recently overheated stocks such as VIX, GEX, VSC, etc., may face a short-term correction as profit-taking pressure builds and demand weakens.
Whether the index will decline or move sideways depends on how cash flow rotates — if money moves into stocks that have not risen much or have been moving sideways, the market may stay stable; otherwise, both groups could pull the index down together.
From a seasonal perspective, late August is historically a weak performance period, which is a negative factor at this time. Therefore, investors should maintain a certain level of cash to hedge against a possible correction.
Stocks with strong inflows today: HBC, IJC, BSI, HDC, HPX, ACB, DPG, BAF, L14, TIG, LSS.
Stocks suitable for accumulation today: CKG, QTP, VPI.
According to Price Action analysis on the VN30, there are:
- 09 stocks giving buy signals,
- 11 stocks giving sell signals,
- 10 stocks moving sideways.
Notably, LPB, ACB, VPB, VJC show positive signals.
Based on quantitative statistics, with today’s candlestick pattern:
- The probability of a decline in the next session is 53%,
- And 42.37% of cases show a close higher than open.
Historically, the VN-Index tends to decline with a lower close in the Wednesday session following such a pattern.
However, recent statistical reliability has weakened due to strong public participation in the market.
Support level: 1,550 points.
Medium-term resistance: 1,800 points.
