Securities Custody Guide

If you hold physical share certificates of a public company, you must first deposit them into an account at a securities company before you can trade.

1

If you do not have a securities trading account with AAS, you can either open one, visit one of our branches/transaction offices, or contact your account manager for assistance with completing the custody procedure.

2

AAS accepts applications

3

After AAS completes the custody application and VSD approves it, the securities will be credited to the client's account at AAS.

Am I required to hold the covered warrant until the expiration date?

icon

Not at all. Similar to an underlying security, you can sell your covered warrant on the stock exchange through your AAS securities account at any time during the holding period.

However, please note that short selling is not permitted.

icon

How can I trade covered warrants?

icon

There are two ways for clients to trade covered warrants:

  • Opt 1: Subscribe to buy when AAS offers them on the primary market (right after the Securities Commission issues the registration certificate for the offering).
  • Opt 2: Buy directly on the secondary market (after the covered warrants are listed on the Stock Exchange)

An investor can open multiple securities trading accounts at different securities companies.

To transfer your account to AAS, you must first open a securities trading account with us. You can then transfer your cash and securities balance to your new AAS account to begin trading and use our full range of services.
