(?TCK) Smart Invest Securities Joint Stock Company (AAS – UPCoM) has just announced its Q3/2021 financial report with revenue of VND 252 billion, total pre-tax accounting profit reaching over VND 170.2 billion, and after-tax profit reaching VND 132.1 billion.

AAS’s Q3 revenue nearly doubled, and pre-tax profit increased by nearly 7 times compared to Q3/2020.

Accumulated for the first 9 months of the year, AAS achieved VND 568.8 billion in revenue, VND 177 billion in pre-tax profit, and VND 141.5 billion in after-tax profit. All three of these indicators increased sharply, by about 3.5 times compared to the same period.

According to the data in AAS’s explanation, the reason for the strong growth in Q3 after-tax profit this year compared to the same period is due to revenue from the sale of financial assets recognized through profit/loss (FVTPL) of VND 100.8 billion, a significant increase compared to VND 6.6 billion in the same period; revenue from dividends and interest generated from FVTPL financial assets was VND 139 billion, an increase of nearly 1.5 times compared to VND 93.3 billion achieved in the same period; revenue from securities brokerage operations reached VND 6.1 billion compared to VND 32 million in the same period; expenses from losses on the sale of FVTPL financial assets reached VND 69 billion, a decrease of about 15% compared to VND 102 billion in the same period; the decrease in revaluation of FVTPL financial assets was VND 2.8 billion compared to VND 0 in Q3 last year.

The bond investment and trading segment still contributed a large proportion to AAS’s revenue and profit, while securities brokerage began to increase sharply compared to the negligible level in the same period but remained at a modest VND 6.1 billion out of Q3 revenue of VND 252 billion.

After completing the increase in charter capital from VND 360 billion to VND 800 billion, AAS’s revenue, with a large proportion coming from bond investment and trading, increased steadily every month. July reached VND 68.8 billion, August exceeded VND 82 billion, and September reached VND 101.2 billion, bringing the total Q3 revenue to over VND 252 billion.

If revenue and profit continue to be maintained at the average monthly level of the past Q3, then in Q4, AAS could potentially achieve a pre-tax profit level equivalent to Q3.

The goal of striving to complete 150% of the VND 200 billion pre-tax profit plan set by AAS’s Board of Directors at the extraordinary general meeting of shareholders in September is entirely feasible.
